What makes me passionate about Early Childhood Education?
As an educator it is so rewarding and fulfilling to support the development and learning of young children. All children are unique, inquisitive and capable learners and it is truly enriching to be a part of their journey where they become their own individuals. It is enriching that I am able to influence and provide an opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of young children by providing quality learning experiences that enable them to construct their own identities and understandings of the world around them.
What do you consider important when communicating with children?
I believe that viewing children as active participants and decision makers in their life is essential in their growth and development of their learning. Acknowledging and responding to children’s voices, opinions and ideas ultimately support their social and emotional well-being as they feel valued and respected.
Creating safe, supportive and trusting relationships with children and families also enable valuable contributions to their learning and development as it drives from their interests and needs. I strongly believe that open communication and collaboration between children, families and educators is essential in supporting children flourish in their learning as all children have their own unique talents, abilities and qualities.
