Pulling on those winter woolies doesn’t have to signal the end of fun in the sun. In fact at Lifelong Learning Centres we are turning up the heat on Winter with our Healthy Children Winter Program.
Rolling out during July across all Lifelong Learning Centres Australia-wide, the Healthy Children Winter Program has been inspired by the six Healthy Children themes - Minds, Bodies, Food, World, Families and Community.
Affinity Education Group CEO Tim Hickey said he was over the moon with the variety of Winter Programs on offer in all Lifelong Learning Centres.
"Our Centre Managers and educators put their heart and soul into these programs to deliver high quality - and seriously fun - early learning experiences for the children who attend,” he said.
Taking a sneak peek across all the programs it is easy to see there were a few favourite activities that cropped up including career days, cooking, sports, yoga, gardening, dancing, sustainability education, bush kindy, and sensory play.
Between July 7-14, a large proportion of our centres are also preparing to celebrate NAIDOC week with home made dampers, dot pointing, dreamtime storytime, nature walks and Indigenous music lessons.
We have to admit though, one of our personal favourites would have to be National Pyjama Day Not only do the children get to rug up in their winter woolies, and snuggle up for a day of pyjama play, but they also get to raise funds for children in foster care. While the official National Pyjama Day is 19 July, we have spread out the fun with individual centres hosting their own days in line with their individual needs.
